Depression and Google
October 30, 2017
Google has a new response to people searching the topic of depression. You can check on a validated screening questionnaire that takes you through a test doctors typically use to evaluate symptoms that can lead to a diagnosis. These include erratic sleep, weight changes, painful thinking, even delusional thinking, anxiety, moodiness, and more.
We can also look at people in Scripture who were depressed like Elijah hiding in a cave. What was the solution for them? God shows us ways to gain perspective in terrible times. God gives us tools: prayer, connecting in accountability with godly people. Medication may help temporarily. But medication cannot make you adjust to new realities, or bring you contentment. Google may be a source of research, but not a solution.
