Credit card fraud prevention
March 6, 2018
I’m Miriam Neff-with STARTING OVER FINANCIALLY, and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, and we’re here to talk about money
M I discovered my NEW credit card which I got due to being hacked, was ALSO hacked within days. I’m embarrassed to say, “My fault.” I received an email from what looked like a retailer I use. But it was a fake.
V Amazon, your bank, and any other company dealing with finances does not contact you by email. Your credit card had been changed and you needed to input your new number. Big mistake
M My son had told me that, but I forgot. I input the new number. A fraudulent 2,000 charge was added within one day.
V Thankfully you called your credit card company. They canceled the charge and I’m sure you’ll never do that again.
