Controlling events

No human can control all the events in his or her life. Wise planning helps. Wise council and common sense, still life happens. Events of loss, even terror happen. Dreams go unrealized. We are tempted to lose hope.
But my friend, while we cannot control all events in our lives, we can control what those events mean. We can control our response. We can decide how to incorporate that tragic event into our future. Many wonderful organizations have been birthed from tragic loss. Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, Prison Fellowship.
An event can decimate your bank account, temporarily break your heart, but that event cannot break your spirit unless you allow it to. God can use any person and any event for His good purposes.
