Close to God

Do we look at spiritual leaders and think they are closer to God than we are? After all, they have a following, position, sometimes popularity. Examples are a plenty, today, New and Old Testament times. Their position might be a gift because they follow God closely.
However, God speaks of another group of people close to Him Psalm 34: 18 . The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. In your time of weeping, feeling defeated, crushed, our Lord hovers over you. He lived as a human and experienced it all. He has comfort that is just right for you right now. Isaiah 42:3 He won’t break a bruised reed. He’ll bring justice.
Close to God is the most healing place we can be.
