Christmas comfort
December 20, 2021
Charitable organizations like Widow Connection have experienced changes this year. We’re small and nimble. It’s all good. While we couldn’t travel internationally. we saw new and greater needs are right here. With cities and churches closed, loneliness, even anxiety rose. Unable to be with friends, family, just other people, our ministry has stepped up.
Our first outreach in the summer, A Cup of Cold Water, was a colorful plant, Scripture verse, and chocolate. You’ll see pictures at widowconnection.com. Our second was Warm Hugs in This Season—a handmade scarf made by a widow, Scripture scroll, and more chocolate.
The impact of delivering these was beyond huge. Many had felt forgotten. We shared prayer with many sighs, ‘remote’ hugs and even tears.
The idea has caught on in many churches. Less global, more local. God’s hands today.
