Christmas season shines a spotlight on our families. Some reveal special anticipation and expected good times. Some reveal hard relationships and dread. Here are a few cautions worth sharing. It has been said that a mother is only as sad as her least happy child. How true this can be even with adult children. There’s a better option. I pray that my children, no one else, for that matter, take my joy. After all, joy is based on our Father, his love, care, and good plans for us.
That means this season can be joy filled because our focus is on the one we celebrate, not those around us. Minimize your time around those unhappy people. Others with evil intent or just crabby are only capable of taking our joy if we allow it.
