M There is an old saying, ‘Do what I say, not what I do.’ What child wants to hear that? We are imperfect for sure. But aiming for excellence in managing money is a worthy goal.
V Our family had a white board with lists of tasks that we would pay for. These were tasks beyond the required ,clean your room, tasks. If children wanted extra money for something we would not supply, they had options. Our point was that work has value. Funny how before the community fair and fireworks lots of tasks got done. Extra fun money in their pockets.
M Earning money for snow cones and slurpees may seem insignificant, but starting early to instill the work and earn connection is important.
