Lessons from David

I’m thankful that Scripture is full of stories of people.  Real people honoring God, messing up, being corrected, and if wise, loving God more.

David the slinger, teaches us a lesson in using what we have.  He was eager to fight Goliath the armored giant.  He was offered Saul’s armor and rejected that.  He would use what he had, a sling shot and a few stones.  He prevailed.  His stone killed Goliath and he used Goliaths own sword to remove his head.

Later, running from Saul, he asked a remote leader to give him a weapon.  All Ahimelek had to offer was Goliath’s sword.  David’s words.  There’s none like it.  Give it to me.  I Samuel 21: 9 David’s skill set had grown.  That’s how God works.  Use what He gives you and God gives you more.
