Saul 4

Godly leaders today don’t care who gets credit for good things.  They just want God to get all the glory.  Period.  It’s called having a servant heart.  Serving God, not yourself and your ego.  King Saul slid from a ‘hiding in the baggage’ before being declared king, to hating other leaders who were more successful in battle than he.  People sang and danced applauding David’s greater successful than Saul’s.

King Saul’s downward spiral was marked  by manipulation, deceit, and  attempted murder of David.  He had an evil spirit, became corrupt.

Samuel anointed David, young, short rather than impressively head and shoulders above others.  But David was a man after God’s own heart.  He sinned repeatedly, yet eventually owned responsibility.

Godly leaders, take notice. Blessed is the leader who has those around him to confront his sin rather than hide or condone it.
