Boasting

I’m Miriam Neff-with STARTING OVER FINANCIALLY,-and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, and we’re here to talk about money
M Proverbs talks about money advising us to only spend what we have and not boast about it. One need not listen long in the marketplace, to the news, sadly even in Christian gatherings to hear such boasting.
V Here’s phrase that captures that spirit. When someone brags exaggerating what they own, we say they are ‘all hat, no cattle.” Proverbs 13: 7 One person pretends to be rich, yet has nothing; another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth.’ Just because someone was wearing a big cowboy hat did not mean they owned many cattle or their own ranch.
M We have only one boast we can truthfully make. All we have is his.
