Adapting to change

Wouldn’t you like to adapt to change easily? I would. But I am constructed by God to grow stronger by making choices. Big, small, easy, hard–beyond my comfort zone. Whether we chose the new environment or are forced in to it, quite likely, we will need to change.
Our old habits, our old financial plan won’t work here. And if we rigidly refuse to change, we’ll be in trouble. God is unlikely to zap us with instant understanding of a new supervisor or employer. We observe, ask questions, and adapt. Which skill sets will work here? What do I need to learn? What old habits need to go? A parenting challenge? We have to grow in clear expectations, boundaries, and grace.
Scripture repeatedly challenges us to grow. This new beginning is our opportunity to do just that.
