A Widow’s privileges
October 28, 2021
Many people pity us. I understand. Being introduced as a widow carries an expectation that we are powerless, poor, lonely, not the life-of-the-party, most likely to be invited woman.
While we have many needs, pity is not one of them. Why? We have a few privileges few people can claim.
We can look back with clear eyes. There is no redo for our marriage. Life is real and it is what it is.
We can also move forward undistracted. I’m free to go to Africa, travel and teach, serve where I can, and spoil my grandchildren unhindered and undistracted by any one else’s agenda.
I understand the Apostle Paul and his call to singleness.
So dear widow whether young or vintage, look at your privileges and see where God takes you.
