6/6/17 Change and hope

Change always begins with hope.  If you believe things will never get better, why try.  I have looked into the hopeless expressions of poor young widows in African villages.  They are skeptical and have been let down, cast aside, and used.  I tell them of our project, what they can do. And then we keep our word. Training them in a self sustaining skill, we return for graduations, singing and clapping.

Their transformation is radical.  Rather than slumping shoulders, they stand erect, make eye contact, have a difference countenance. They eagerly show us the garments they’ve made.  Offering a small way forward brings hope.  God loves them.  Now they know it.  James 1: 27 is an action verse.  Help the widow and orphan.
