Snow on daffodils

Have you seen snow on daffodils?  In Chicago’s crazy springtime, this happens.  It’s like crisis hitting your life just when you thought things were fine.  A surprising job loss.  Car accident.  Your young adult child making a life devastating, terrible decision.  You shiver in a freezing snow that covers hope and a beautiful future.

I understand loss.  And I can tell you, just like my daffodils that have survived and are in full bloom, you will get through this. Being real here, my yellow blooms might have been bigger or brighter had it not snowed.  I don’t know.  But hindsight gazing and guessing is not productive.   These flowers are hardy.  God made them that way.

So are you, my friend.  You’ll discover strength you did not know you had.  You’ll grow in endurance–which will serve you well.
