Flourishing and blessing

A popular word these days is flourishing. It means to grow well, make big waves, be positive, mental health and overall well being. Finding this all within yourself.
Scripture speaks of flourishing also. Psalm 92: 13. The righteous flourish like the palm tree, and grow like the cedar of Lebanon. They are planted in the house of the Lord. Big difference. Christians flourish because we are rooted in God, our source of everything.
Psalm 1 is a great example of the difference for the flourishing believer and unbeliever. We yield fruit, not chaff blown away in the wind. Our location is by the water, God’s word. And with others by that same source.
Will we make big waves in this world? Probably not. But we’ll build treasures in Heaven. That’s flourishing.
