Have you ever considered what are sneaky temptations in our lives? One that comes to mind is exploiting others. That is ‘taking advantage of someone in order to profit from them or otherwise benefit oneself.’
Befriending a powerful person, for possible personal gain. Inappropriate words or actions with sexual intent. Taking advantage of another in any way. How smoothly we can slide a bit here, a bit there.
We have the protection of prayer. Lord bring me up short in even my thoughts before action. Accountability partners help. They know how we spend our time, who we listen to, and who we are with. They know us and care enough to confront.
The world needs Christ followers to shine brightly today more than ever. Exploiting others should not be found in our churches, our organizations, or in us.
