Christmas

December and Abundance belong together. We think full tables of food- twice as much as guests can consume, gifts piled under Christmas trees, packed calendars. December’s celebrated high light, the birth of Christ, can shrink by comparison. The possibility of an abundant life is because Jesus came. Baby status, not king; poor family. There were no signs He would bring abundance.
Yet He declares in John 10:10 “I have come that you might have life and might have it more abundantly.” Jesus did not have to come, He chose to, on purpose–so our lives would be fuller, richer. He offers a different kind of abundance. Peace, intimacy with our Creator, a future home beyond our imagination, comfort even while our hearts hurt. He came Himself to show us how it’s done.
