The cautions of handouts

M In these uncertain times, our government has stepped in to help with stimulus checks, extended unemployment checks, and other support. These may be helpful.
V We need to be cautious. Depending on another source of income means those who give it can stop, and at some point take back in some way. Scripture has always admonished us to work. Being dependent on the government, or kings in the Old Testament, is placing our trust in the wrong place, the wrong people. If that handout promotes not working, God is not honored.
M Being diligent with every dollar is good stewardship. Trusting God for provision, honoring His direction to be productive, our trust and confidence is in the right place.
