Dust settling # 2

Our bruised nation and battered economy highlight the realities of who we are. We grasp what we want, ignoring the plight of others. I Corinthians 13: 4, 5 describes us clearly. Without love we are envious, boastful, and proud. We dishonor others, and are self-seeking. We are easily angered, and have kept records of wrongs.
Yes, I see myself in this list. My focus on me and those few around me has created ignorance of the plight of many. I have not loved others well, even noticed their hardships.
My first step: Lord to open my eyes to what You see in me and others. My second: listen carefully. Injustice has prevailed, continued, and not even addressed or eradicated. Favoritism prevails. Lord help me act biblically in whatever avenue I can so that your love is visible through me.
