Planting
June 30, 2021
June means gardening in my area. A time of solitude, weeding, pruning and experiencing God’s creativity in creating plants. My mind remembers Scripture that compares our lives to much that we learn in our gardens.
We reap what we sow. Planting spinach seeds means spinach later. Letting dandelions go to seed means more dandelions later. Squandering money means poverty later. Self centered behavior begets a shriveled soul.
Scripture also reminds us that we don’t always see the final stage of our planting. Planting a slow growing tiny walnut sapling is worthwhile, even though I’ll never see that tree in its finest hour.
That’s why we love, disciple, teach, instruct, and care. We may never see the result of what we sow. But God will and that’s what matters.
