Bible relevance

God’s word is descriptive of my city today. Psalm 55: 9–11 describes a city that has “violence and strife, iniquity and trouble are within it, ruin is in its midst and oppression and fraud do not depart from its marketplace.” Chicago is not the only city today so described.
As Christ followers we cannot hide, deny, or succumb to discouragement. Our churches can be beacons of truth, and encouragement. One Chicago church bonds out non violent folks and walks with them to make better decisions. Are they changing the city? No. But they are shining the light of Jesus and impacting one person at a time.
We can still vote for folks in offices or on judicial benches that respect God. We can encourage people to run for offices that represent our values.
