Know your WHY # 3

M Being generous with what God has entrusted to us is about the WHY first, not the how much.
V Two examples in Scripture are Mary and an unnamed widow.
Mary, the sister of Martha and Lazarus, anointed the Lord with perfume and dried his feet with her hair (John 11:2). She repeated this again shortly before his death (John 12:3). Each jar of that perfume was worth a year’s wages, possibly her life savings.
Luke 21:1-4 tells the story of the poor widow who gave two small coins. And it adds that Jesus tells his disciples: “’Truly I tell you,’ he said, ‘this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.’”
M its not about the amount, its the heart to give.
