Elections and God’s sovereignty
November 5, 2020
Disruptions and chaos are not new to our country. Today we are divided for sure. But consider that family members literally fought against each other, on opposite sides of the civil war. They fought to their deaths over slavery, federal government control over the states, and economic interests.
With fits and starts our country today attempts to solve differences through our three faceted government: the legislative branch, the executive, and judicial branches. With three distinct purposes, we focus our prayer. Legislative: communicate with grace and wisdom. Executive: God directed humility. Judicial: fair and just.
Romans 13: 1 is clear. Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established.
Pray because God CAN direct our leaders.
