After an election

Many are relieved today that the election is past. Regardless of outcome, we can step back and ponder what really matters today.
Leaders of countries are allowed by God. Romans 13. We do not revere them. We revere only God. We are instructed to pray for them I Timothy 2: 1, 2. God is ever capable of intervening. Christ followers have lived under cruel leaders throughout history. Thank God we still do have a leader that places his or her hand on the Bible at inauguration. We still have Christ followers in some governing positions. Thank God we can still worship openly in our country.
As we start giving thanks, our gratitude list grows longer. This is a good day to thank God for what He has done.
