withholding giving and becoming poor

I’m Miriam Neff-with STARTING OVER FINANCIALLY, and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, and we’re here to talk about money
M Let’s explore the paradox of giving and becoming richer or hoarding what we have, and becoming poor. Our culture applauds withholding giving. It says, “I’ll keep it for myself. I earned it. God wants me to be wealthy. I’ll only give to good causes if I get something back”
V First, we don’t give to get. That’s trying to bribe God. Not a good idea. He is the greatest giver and we’re made in His image. That means when we give, we have the joy of knowing we are reflecting Him. The person hoarding, faces temptations. They might become a miser, Scrooge, anxious that they’ll lose what they have.
M All we have is His on loan to us from God.
