During uncertain times, even disruptive, we’re tempted to look ahead, hope for the day we are in control and can live life as we’d like. This has been such a season. We’re tempted to ignore the value of focusing on today. Scripture is clear. Each day is to be valued.
Psalm 118: 24 This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Hit the pause button and think gratitude. What can you and I be grateful for today? That a flower still blooms and cannot be locked down. That a child still looks up and smiles at the sun. That we are rarely hungry, even in turbulent times. Start the list. You’ll find blessings taken for granted in the past. And uninvited, new behavior is better than the past.
