Focus after loss # 2

Why is it so hard for us to gather the pieces of our loss, make sense of them, and move into our new life?  Because we’re human.  We resist change.  It requires great resilience, energy, and new thinking.  Our brain has a ‘normalcy bias.’  We think the future will be what we believe, often based on the past or wishful thinking.

Our battered emotions are confused, weary and don’t want to start new patterns.  And sometimes our bodies are worn out at best.  We even ignore ordinary ‘upkeep’ of the container of our head and our heart.

Even in this time of disruption, we can care for our bodies: eat healthy and stay active.  Renewing our body is good for our mind.  All that we are is God’s gifts to us.  Let’s  renew stewardship of our bodies.
