Perseverance # 2
June 4, 2020
These are testing times in ways most of us have not experienced before. Extroverts and struggling to embrace texts and zoom as their style of life. People living alone are feeling the void of being with others. All are touched in some way.
James, the writer of the book of James, probably Jesus brother, knew about hard tests. His advice: persevere, be tenacious, continue to live the right way. Become mature. Simple words, hard to live.
Mature people can delay gratification. We’d like our churches open, our gyms, and salons. When James wrote his words, believers were persecuted, scattered and had no hope in their future, little of what we are wishing for today. Their belongings and homes plundered. Perspective, my friend, become mature and persevere.
