Sacrifice # 2

In our chaotic world, I’m noticing the impact of simple words and acts of encouragement. Thanking a cashier, complimenting the folks stocking the shelves, a wave and a smile for the lawn care workers. They beam back as if you’d made their day.
Every morning I’m singing to God and to myself an old song, “Make me a blessing to someone today.” The highways and byways of today display rudeness, harsh words and worse, and unwelcome gestures.
These days are provoking judgement. Are you doing, not doing, what I think you should be doing? Ask God to prompt you. Show you the moment and the person needing a blessing. He will! Proverbs 15:23
A person finds joy in giving an apt reply— and how good is a timely word!
