Resolutions Why
February 3, 2020
We are one month in to a new decade! The reality of 2020 motivated many of us to make new plans, dream, resolve, and commit to changes, some small, some large.
How’s that going? It has been said that we lose our way when we lose our why. ‘What,’ ‘where,’ and ‘how’ become hard things, or just too challenging to achieve if we’ve lost the vision of ‘why.’
To become more healthy is a greater, more enduring resolution than to look thinner. To exercise, keep moving to feel more energized and more productive, is more motivational than simply seeing ‘exercise’ on the ‘to do’ list.
‘Why’ requires that we look ahead. Hebrews 12: 1, 2, reminds us to look to the joy ahead. Press into the future. Immediate rewards are rare. “Why” matters.
