Unemployment
September 23, 2019
M I’m Miriam Neff-with STARTING OVER FINANCIALLY,-and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, and we’re here to talk about money.
M Money talk can’t be separated from work opportunities. Memories of depression years, bread lines, and 25% unemployment are gone. We focus on unemployment figures. The news today looks good. Low unemployment at 3.8% with new jobs being created lifts most boats.
V Lets not forget those who are left out of the good news. Under performing schools graduate students not ready for better jobs. Criminal convictions prevent job opportunities and potential, even college tuition help.
May we never forget that Jesus reached out to those silenced and marginalized. Scripture says work is good, no task is menial.
M We can be thankful for a healthy job market. Let’s do what we can to help all participate in that benefit.
