I’m Miriam  Neff-with STARTING OVER FINANCIALLY, and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, and we’re here to talk about money

 

M  Scripture emphasizes teaching our children in their early years. Proverbs 22:6

‘Train up a child in the way he should go, when he is old he will not depart from it.’  Walk and talk, show by example.

 

V  That includes God’s truth about money.  Young children might have home responsibilities as part of the family team.  A small allowance is a start.  If they want that ‘extra’ item, its theirs if they pay for it.  We also had lists of tasks ‘for pay.’  Our children also knew we returned to God what was His through our church and other ways.

 

M I remember your crowded white board, a visual example.  Your children were learning early about money, God’s generosity, and the value of work.
