General Jim Mattis

General Jim Mattis is a respected four star Marine Corps general. His recent speech is regarded as one of the most motivational of all time describing the Marine Corps. One phrase is telling. “Entirely satisfied if we gave 100% And entirely dissatisfied if we gave 99% So long as our Corps fields such Marines, America has nothing to fear from tyrants, be they Fascists, Communists or Tyrants with Medieval Ideology. For we serve in a Corps with no institutional confusion about our purpose: To fight! To fight well!
I am reminded of the apostle Paul. Philipians 3: 13. “This one thing I do.” Straining ahead, he knew his mission to spread the gospel and was all in. Every day he breathed. 100% only. A good example for us as Christ followers today.
