Tension in serving

Do you feel a tension between what you want to accomplish, feel you should be achieving, and your reality today?   Helen Roseveare did as a doctor in Congo treating malaria by symptoms rather than lab tests, operating with no training as a surgeon, and making bricks some days rather than seeing  patients.  She wanted to do her  best, and be the  best.  Yet, God called her to Africa where that was not possible in the view of some.

Let’s shift perspectives. I Corinthians 12:12—22  We are a body, all parts important  regardless of function.

Making bricks, her necessary assignment at times, is as God honoring as practicing medicine.  God has no hierarchy of value of tasks.
