Hoarding versus reasonable accumulation
November 13, 2018
I’m Miriam Neff-with STARTING OVER FINANCIALLY,-and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, and we’re here to talk about money
M Money itself is not the root of evil. Loving it is. People don’t love bills and gold bars. They love the stuff it buys, living spaces, comfort, community status, what it provides. Contrast that God gives us all things to enjoy. Pauls letter to his friend urges him to hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. 1 Timothy 6:17
V How do we discern hoarding from reasonable accumulation? Hoarding is self centered and excessive. Reasonable accumulation includes wise investment, enabling us to be generous. We can help those in need. We can provide opportunities, educational, kingdom work to advance the gospel, enriching travel because God has abundantly blessed us.
M Thank God for his provision, enjoy, and share.
