Life’s raw material
November 1, 2018
Life’s raw material in God’s hands becomes art that we seldom recognize in the making. No human is spared difficulties, hardships, and even tragedies. Raw material in life. Raw emotions, sometimes even raw flesh from injuries or surgery. But raw material can be shaped, refined, redefined and molded. The most comforting words we hear are from those who have suffered as we have.
I own a beautiful quilt hand stitched by my grandmother. It is the scraps and leftovers of our childhood dresses. Raw material in your life may be like those scraps, the birthplace of passion to right a wrong in your neighborhood, town, or even country.
God’s refining fire removes bitterness and anger and replaces it with persistence and passion. Scraps become a beautiful design.
And that, my friend, is true art.
