We are saddened to see Christian leaders humanness and sin on display. Folks around them are now questioning how this could have been prevented? How and why did they miss the warning flags?
Proverbs 11: 2 is blunt and clear. “When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but wisdom is with the humble. Pride is one flag that disgrace is ahead. Let’s reflect on J. Oswald Sanders test for self examination: Do we resent criticism or weigh its validity without self defense? Any popular leader is tempted to believe he or she is above their critics. Their success has earned them that.
Remember, anything we are and have are from Him. And the only one deserving praise is God himself. Criticism, God’s tool to highlight pride, examine our selves, and admit sin.
