Grass seed and hail

My morning was full of surprises.  I hauled soil, planted grass seed, and settled down with coffee contented.  A little rain on the way and my yard would be on the way to green.  Surprise!  Within an hour it was hailing ice balls!  This rarely happens in Spring even in Chicago.  Time will pass and I’ll see the outcome of this unusual event.

How like our lives.  We plan, we prepare and then life happens.  One of the characteristics God desires in us is trust.  Hail storms test that.

We don’ know if we’ll beat the disease, or our child, whether young or adult will be OK.  God does.  So we lean heavily into Him when the ice has disappeared and the grass has not yet appeared.
