M Our culture encourages mass consumption.  Consider the size of your childhood clothes closet compared with  todays.

 

V Perspective on stuff.  This is important!  My friend has his MDiv, and he likes to goad me when I talk about a potential purchase.  He’ll say “first time by flood, second time by fire”.  It’s all gonna burn unless it’s part of the new creation Val.” I’m not really sure about his theology, but he makes me think twice about how things are unimportant in the light of eternity.

 

M Luke 12 tells of a wealthy man who accumulated for himself, not God.  Result:  destruction, not blessing.
