World Hot Spots

As another hot spot on our planet lights up today, many of us feel helpless. Continents apart, with no power over the aggressors, we wait helplessly. And then we read Scripture. Real stories, real people, unexpected influence, unexpected outcomes. As jews waited expectantly to be killed, God gave Esther courage to approach the power center, the king, and change the orders.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, walked into seeming death, and God showed up. Daniel walked into the lion’s den and God intervened. Rahab rescued Joshua and smuggled him to safety. Small people changed history. Our first responsibility is to pray. And one of those prayers can be for God to raise up people or a person who can change history. Yes, God uses armies, but one person will do.
