Why Give Thanks 2

I admire Abraham Lincoln without reservation. In proclaiming Thanksgiving a national holiday, he stated that God was blessing our country by augmenting our free population by emancipation and immigration. He believed we were created by God and created equal. He admonished us to pray fervently and humbly for God to bless our nation with peace, union and harmony throughout the land.
Today, we are in great need of peace. Respectful speech is replaced with protests. Unity is replaced with division, and harmony replaced with pride in being antagonistic, and ‘stirring the pot.’ Solution, Romans 12: 18 ‘If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.’
I’m asking God to show me how I can be at peace with every relative and friend at my table on this Thanksgiving Day.
