Waiting

My prayer list was long this morning, and some are the same ‘asks’ I’ve had for decades. I had to stop writing and ask out loud, ‘God, should I just stop asking for this? This ‘ask’ matches what You desire, so why no answer?’ Philippians 1:6. Completion day for Him is the day of Jesus Christ. Not my wish for today, tomorrow, or as quickly as I wish.
Yes, other people are involved. God has plans in and for their lives that obviously differ from either their choices, or even what I see as best.
One positive result of what I see as unnecessary delay is this: God is growing patience within me. And why not? He’s patient and wants me to be like him. And persistence. Yes, I’m growing in that too.
