Vertical To Horizontal – Ready To Answer

I saved the little red New Testament I received in grade school. No surprise, public schools can’t give students any portion of the Bible today. Our nation has shifted from vertical, Godward, to horizontal, every person doing what is right in our own eyes. The book of Judges shows us that results in only evil personally and in community.
When we Christ followers understand the shift from Godward to no God, we understand why another life is not precious, only our own. Wealth and success is self-made, not God’s blessing or allowance. Our sexuality is a preference in our head, not DNA from God’s creation of us.
How do we respond? I am challenged to know what I believe and why, love those who disagree with me, and live vertically in a horizontal world.
