Start small

Our obsession with large in our culture is not biblical. Consider that boy David was willing to go up against Philistine Goliath, a threatening giant. Even King Saul would not take on the challenge. But he offered small David his armor and weapons. David declined. He could not walk in them rejecting them because he was not used to them.
Victorious with sling and stone, David was later anointed king and fled before jealous Saul. He took refuge in a place where Goliath’s sword was saved. The ruler there offered it to David for his protection. David’s answer, “There is none like it; give it to me.”
David started with a small skill and small weapon and became proficient in bigger weapons. His faith was in God, not his weapons.
