Precious pictures

What do we treasure? Do we treasure our Bibles, God’s Word? When my children were young, they’d bring home their school artwork with pride. I’d tape them on our refrigerator door. I treasured them. As they explained what I was looking at, I gained insights into their perspectives. Listened attentively. I’ve even saved many decades later.
Were they great works of art? Budding Picassos or Rembrandts? Hardly. I treasured the person who created that work. My loved child.
We should treasure God’s Word. It’s not the pages, and chapters, its WHO the Bible represents. We cherish God. We treasure gaining insights into Him. His Word simply represents Him through our reading, ears, minds, and hearts. God is our treasure. That’s why we treasure His word.
