Power Struggles

As we watch power struggles within our government, I’m reminded, as I’m reading through the book of Acts, that some things never change.
Accusations fly from both sides that someone used power to gain income for themselves or relatives, favoritism for a cause or position, or material gain. Felix summoned the imprisoned Paul frequently to question him, hoping Paul would offer him a bribe for favors. Acts 24:26
King Agrippa used Paul’s legal defense proceeding to capture a dramatic processional moment for him, his wife, and his entourage entering and exiting the questioning session. A photographic moment had there been cameras and cell phones then.
While justice did not prevail for Paul, and often injustice prevails today, ultimately truth will be known. And Jesus, who is the only righteous judge will rule.
