Perspective

Being in Washington D.C. and listening to news, I’m tempted to be discouraged about our country.  Though founded on biblical principles, we have stumbled, strayed, and even boldly defy God Himself and his Son.  Hot rhetoric, accusations, while ignoring great needs of our people.

And then I remember my trips to developing countries: villages in Mozambique, Uganda, Ghana, Mathare Valley, Nairobi, Kenya, most of the widows we serve are poor beyond description. Leaving their orphaned children in orphanages so they will be fed.  Some don’t have the opportunity to learn to read or do basic math.

My perspective changes. This country has given me opportunity perhaps beyond any other.  So, what do I do with that blessing?  Serve God, because He gave me life in this country.
