In times of starting over, transitions, we need stability. While fluctuations in leadership, markets, and more defy predicting the future, lets look at scripture. 677 times Scripture mentions ‘nations.’ clear predictions, and promises are made.
Obeying God brings blessings. When a nation disobeys, God removes His hand of blessing and chaos reins.
The Old Testament is full of the realities of the nation of Israel. They were fickle and worshiped other gods. Infant sacrifice, taking advantage of the poor, injustice and more.
10 commandments are listed. All are repeated in the New Testament.
To walk humbly is to honor God first, the first commandment. Justice, fairness, and remembering God’s grace and mercy to us. Our nation may be violating these directives, but we as persons, families, churches can obey God. He may pause His hand of judgement. Let’s pray.
