One to One

Families can bring major delight and major challenges.  Most have both, though we try to hide the challenges until they cause an attention getting flare.  I’m discovering ways to let go of expectations, even dreams, and let real life straighten my hair.  I’m calling it One to One.

Family scenes are usually groups where it appears all can eat together, chat, and hang out.  Not always a possibility.  Adults make different choices in politics, eating priorities, energy philosophies, religious priorities, and core values of faith.  They marry spouses with those differences and more.

I’m treasuring one on one times.  Time with one of my adult children doing something of interest to them.  Entering their world and listening.

This is not a new idea.  Jesus mirrored one on one. He can show us  how to stay connected.
