Mary, Mother of Jesus # 2

Life happens and most of us need a big dose of courage regularly. I found that in studying the Mary, the mother of Jesus. She was told before Jesus’ birth that a sword would pierce her soul, because she would become the mother of the Messiah. Luke 2: 35. She knew prophecy.
One desire of every mother is that her child be accepted in her community. As Jesus grew and revealed who he was, there were those who more than shunned him. They hated him. They followed and discredited him. The Romans feared his popularity. That pain was probably like a sword piercing her soul. Her other children rejected him at that time.
But she knew the day would come, after his death, that He would rise again. Her courage came from her son, her Savior.
